Valorie Moore is the proud mother of sophomore and Dr. Michael L. Lomax Student Success Scholar Daylan Moore. She is currently an Environmental Scientist/Manager in the greater Los Angeles CA area. She has over 25 years of professional experience in management of Environmental programs (air, water, waste) in the cement, aggregate, limestone, gypsum, oil & gas, and waste industries. She holds a BA in Biology from Talladega College and an MS in Environmental Management from Samford University.

 

In addition to ensuring her sites are in compliance with all federal, state and local environmental regulations, she has led Business Resource Groups with over 200 members, and currently supports STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Art & Mathematics) by mentoring middle school students. She serves as an Engineering Representative to help write a STEAM curriculum to serve as a guide for educators to help generate student interest at the middle school level.

 

Valorie relocated to Santa Clarita, CA in 2018 and became active in several causes and organizations. She joined the Talladega College Alumni Association, Los Angeles Chapter where she serves as Vice-President and served on the National Alumni Association By-Laws Committee and Nominating Committee. She is also a member of the Inter Alumni Council of UNCF – Los Angeles, NAACP Santa Clarita Chapter, Network of Executive Women National Organization which is now known as NextUp where she served as the Southern California Regional Finance Manager, Zonta International, Women in Mining where she serves as Junior National Representative for the state of California, an Associate Jewel of Jack and Jill of America, Inc and she is a proud member of Sigma Lambda Omega Chapter of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc. She is an active member of Valencia Christian Center Church where she serves as Committee Chair of the Scholarship Committee and Worship Leader. She is excited and honored to serve on the Morehouse College Parent Council as Treasurer.

 

Valorie is a huge sports fan so during her down time you will find her at one of the LA sports arenas enjoying a game
