Valorie Moore is a dedicated advocate for parent engagement and a proud member of the Morehouse College family. She began her MCPC leadership journey as Region 9 Representative (2024–2025), strengthening connections between families and council leadership through communication, outreach, and meaningful engagement.

As Treasurer, Valorie provided responsible financial stewardship by overseeing budgeting, monitoring expenditures, and ensuring accountability so MCPC operated with integrity and purpose.

​

Now serving as Chair, she leads with a collaborative spirit and a strong commitment to ensuring every Morehouse family feels informed, connected, and valued throughout their son's journey. She believes engaged parents help students thrive, and that belief guides her leadership.

​

Beyond MCPC, Valorie has served in national alumni associations, nonprofit organizations, women's leadership groups, and scholarship initiatives. Her experience in governance, strategic planning, financial oversight, and community building positions her to lead MCPC with vision and purpose.

Helena Quick-Bennett's journey with MCPC began after attending Parents Weekend, where she knew she wanted to become more involved. She started as a Region 7 Alternate, advanced to Regional Representative, and now serves as Vice Chair. That journey reflects who Helena is—someone who shows up, earns trust, and leads through service.

 

Throughout her MCPC service, Helena has strengthened parent engagement, advocated for families, and fostered meaningful connections that make the Morehouse parent community feel united. She recognizes that every family brings unique backgrounds, needs, and questions, and believes parent engagement should reflect and support those differences.

Beyond MCPC, Helena actively supports parent engagement at her younger son's school, demonstrating her lasting commitment to families and community.

As Vice Chair, Helena is focused on stronger parent programming, meaningful communication, and traditions that give every Morehouse family lasting connections long after their son graduates.

Gigi Frye is the owner of College Connect 101, where for more than 16 years she has helped students and families successfully navigate the college admissions process. With a degree in Behavioral Science, she is committed to helping students access higher education through admissions, financial aid, and scholarship guidance that creates lasting opportunities.

​

Her passion for education extends into community leadership. Gigi served on the Board at St. Eugene’s School and as President of the African American Parent Association at Loyola High School. She led impactful initiatives, including the Black History Month Luncheon, established the annual HBCU Fair, and directed fundraising efforts that strengthened programs supporting students and families.

​

Gigi is also proud of her family. Her daughter, Kristen, earned degrees from Loyola Marymount and Northwestern University and works at Warner Bros. Discovery. Her son, Christopher, is a Morehouse College student studying Computer Science with a minor in Finance. Though not an HBCU graduate, Gigi proudly champions HBCU education and its enduring legacy.

Grace Inniss-Lee has earned her place in MCPC leadership through dedication, consistency, and service. After supporting a Regional Representative and later serving in that role herself, she now brings her experience and commitment to the position of Secretary.

​

Organization is second nature to Grace. As the proud mother of five sons, she has mastered structure, consistency, and managing complex responsibilities with patience and precision. Professionally, she has spent more than 18 years as a correctional professional in the State of Connecticut, overseeing the movement of more than 10,000 inmates statewide. The role demands accuracy, accountability, and clear communication.

​

Grace brings those same standards to her service with Sigma Gamma Rho Sorority, Incorporated, where she supports scholarship development, fundraising, and financial oversight.

​

As MCPC Secretary, Grace is committed to maintaining accurate records, strengthening communication, and serving the Morehouse parent community with professionalism, integrity, and organized excellence that families can trust.

Jessica C. Taylor is an Atlanta, Georgia native and graduate of the North Atlanta High School of Performing Arts. She served 17 distinguished years in the United States Marine Corps as a Combat Veteran, developing the leadership, discipline, and resilience that define her today.

​

Jessica earned a Bachelor of Science in Psychology from Georgia Gwinnett College and is a Licensed Massage Therapist and Certified Neuromuscular Therapist. As owner of Mindful Movement Health and Wellness, she helps clients improve their health through a holistic, evidence-based approach.

​

With more than 20 years of experience supporting students, families, and nonprofit organizations, Jessica has demonstrated leadership in administration, logistics, event planning, and community engagement. She currently serves as Region 1 Representative for the Morehouse College Parent Council, strengthening connections among parents, students, alumni, and the college community.

​

Jessica is committed to empowering others through service, wellness, leadership, and meaningful community engagement with compassion, resilience, and purpose.

Marcia "Joy" Scott is known for consistently showing up and serving others. Over the past two years, she has been an active presence at major Morehouse parent engagement events, including Parents Weekend, Admitted Students Weekend, New Student Orientation, the Golf Event, Finals Goody Bags, community service activities, the Pinning Ceremony, and Graduation. Her dedication reflects a deep commitment to supporting Morehouse families.

Professionally, Marcia serves as a foster care case manager with the Department of Children and Families, where she supports children and families through challenging circumstances. Her work requires compassion, advocacy, communication, organization, and an unwavering commitment to those she serves.

​

As Region 2 Representative, Marcia is focused on strengthening communication between parents and the College while creating meaningful opportunities for involvement, mentorship, and connection. Through years of dedicated volunteer service, she has earned the trust of the Morehouse community and is committed to helping every family feel welcomed, supported, and connected.

Raynah Everett believes that when families are engaged, informed, and involved in their students’ journeys, everyone benefits. Students thrive, communities grow stronger, and institutions succeed. That belief has guided her leadership and service throughout her career.

Raynah is a dedicated advocate through her volunteer work with Mental Health America and NAMI, supporting vulnerable communities with compassion and commitment. She has also served as Secretary, Treasurer, and President of parent-teacher organizations, bringing extensive parent leadership experience alongside her faith-based community service.

​

Professionally, Raynah has built a successful career in healthcare, communications, growth development, and customer success, including executive leadership of large teams. She currently serves at Microsoft, where strategic leadership and operational excellence are central to her work.

As Region 3 Representative, Raynah is committed to creating meaningful experiences during key Morehouse events and ensuring every Region 3 family feels welcomed, supported, informed, and connected from day one.

Demetra Stewart believes effective communication is more than sharing information—it is ensuring people receive it, understand it, and feel connected. That commitment is reflected throughout her leadership and service.

Within Jack and Jill of America, Incorporated's Greater Suburban Maryland Chapter, Demetra has served as Editor and Corresponding Secretary, overseeing newsletters, official communications, meeting notices, event documentation, and information distribution. Her work has helped keep members informed, organized, and engaged.

​

Her leadership also includes financial management, event coordination, and member engagement across nonprofit organizations, where she has consistently demonstrated organization, accuracy, and attention to detail. Whether managing budgets, planning events, or communicating with hundreds of families, she approaches every responsibility with professionalism and care.

As Region 4 Representative, Demetra is committed to strengthening communication, improving information flow, and ensuring parents never miss important deadlines, opportunities, or events. She is dedicated to keeping every Region 4 family informed, connected, and supported.

Symara Moses was serving the Morehouse parent community long before receiving a leadership title. As co-administrator of the Class of 2028, 2029, and 2030 WhatsApp parent groups, she has consistently connected families, shared resources, answered questions, and ensured parents felt supported throughout their Morehouse journey.

Inspired by watching her son grow academically, socially, and personally at Morehouse, Symara transformed her passion into service and now proudly serves as Region 5 Representative.

​

She brings 25 years of professional leadership experience and more than a decade as an entrepreneur. As founder and owner of IHM3 Events LLC, she has led teams, managed partnerships and budgets, and coordinated large-scale educational, mentorship, travel, and community events. Her background includes business operations, career services, clinical management, communications, fundraising, and program development.

As Region 5 Representative, Symara is committed to stronger communication, deeper engagement, and innovative initiatives that meaningfully support Morehouse students and their families.

Monica Challenger demonstrates her commitment to Morehouse through consistent service and leadership. Over the past two years, she has traveled to Atlanta and throughout the Midwest to support Parents and Families Weekend, Admitted Students Weekend, New Student Orientation, Finals care package distributions, the Candle in the Dark Gala, and Commencement Weekend.

​

Beyond attending events, Monica has strengthened regional parent connections, built relationships with alumni, and created meaningful opportunities for families. She even helped connect a Region 6 student with a valuable summer internship, reflecting her dedication to student success.

​

Professionally and civically, Monica serves as President of the Cedar Rapids Public Library Board of Trustees, Vice President of Humanities Iowa, a leader within the Society of Women Engineers, and a member of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Incorporated. Her nonprofit leadership and strategic experience strengthen her service to the Morehouse community.

Porsche Wilson understands the experience of being a first-time Morehouse parent and the importance of having support from the very beginning. Inspired by her own journey, she became a leader dedicated to helping other families feel informed and connected.

As co-administrator of the Morehouse Class of 2028 Moms WhatsApp community, Porsche has spent two years supporting more than 400 families by sharing resources, answering questions, and building a welcoming parent network.

​

With more than 20 years of leadership experience across the military, corporate, and nonprofit sectors, Porsche brings strategic leadership, discipline, and compassion to every role. Her nonprofit board service includes financial oversight and governance, while her experience as a Mary Kay Sales Director strengthened her skills in mentorship and leadership development. She also organized a pre-NSO meet-and-greet for more than 200 incoming Morehouse families.

Levongia Carrera Ordaz believes strong communities are built through connection and service. When her son joined Morehouse as a member of the Class of 2028, she created a WhatsApp group where new Morehouse moms could connect, share resources, and support one another. The group quickly grew to nearly 400 engaged parents and inspired similar communities for future classes.

​

With more than 30 years of executive leadership experience in finance, operations, and organizational strategy, Levongia serves as Senior Principal of Financial Reporting at Airbnb, leading enterprise-wide process improvements and cross-functional initiatives. Her leadership at TrueBlue advanced diversity and engagement, while her nonprofit board service reflects a long-standing commitment to workforce development, foster care advocacy, and financial stewardship.

As Region 8 Representative, Levongia is dedicated to building informed, connected, and supported families. She combines strategic executive leadership with a passion for community, creating opportunities that strengthen the Morehouse parent experience for everyone.

Virginia Tomlinson has spent more than 22 years creating environments where students, families, and educators feel supported, connected, and positioned for success. As a school administrator, she built strong partnerships with families, staff, and community stakeholders while helping guide educational growth and student achievement.

​

Virginia understands that Morehouse families seek more than information—they want meaningful connections with the college and the community surrounding their sons. Throughout her career, she has focused on building those relationships with care, consistency, and purpose.

​

Her dedication to service extends beyond education. A proud member of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Incorporated for 31 years, Virginia has provided leadership through community service and event planning. She also serves as a Board Member for Lamad Charter School, supporting educational excellence.
