A Bit About Levongia

Levongia Carrera Ordaz did not wait for community to find her. She built it. ​

When her son joined Morehouse as a member of the Class of 2028, Levongia saw the need for a space where new Morehouse moms could connect, share information, and support one another. She created a WhatsApp group that quickly grew into a thriving community of nearly 400 engaged parents. Her leadership also inspired parent communities for future classes, strengthening the Morehouse parent network in ways that continue to make a lasting impact.

That is who Levongia is. Someone who sees a need and fills it — not for recognition, but because families need it. ​

With more than 30 years of executive leadership experience in finance, operations, and organizational strategy, Levongia currently serves as Senior Principal of Financial Reporting at Airbnb, leading enterprise-wide process improvements and cross-functional initiatives. Her executive leadership at TrueBlue advanced diversity and engagement, while her nonprofit board service reflects a long-standing commitment to workforce development, foster care advocacy, and financial stewardship. ​

What makes Levongia exceptional is the combination she brings into every room — the strategic mind of a seasoned executive and the heart of a grassroots organizer who started a WhatsApp group because she cared. ​

As Region 8 Representative, Levongia is focused on what she has always been focused on — building connected, informed, and supported families who show up for their sons and for each other. ​

She has already shown Region 8 what is possible when one person decides to lead. Now she gets to do it officially.
