Marcia "Joy" Scott

Region 2

A Bit About Marcia

Marcia "Joy" Scott shows up. That is the simplest and most accurate thing you can say about her — and in a community built on service, it means everything.

Over the past two years Marcia has been a consistent, reliable presence across virtually every major Morehouse parent engagement initiative. Parents Weekend. Admitted Students Weekend. New Student Orientation. The Golf Event. Finals Goody Bags. Community service activities. The Pinning Ceremony. Graduation. If it mattered to Morehouse families, Marcia was there. Not because she had to be — but because she understood that this community is built one act of service at a time and she was not going to miss her turn.

That spirit of showing up for families in their most important moments is not something Marcia learned at Morehouse. It is something she carries into Morehouse from her professional life every single day.

As a foster care case manager with the Department of Children and Families, Marcia works alongside children and families navigating some of the most complex and vulnerable chapters of their lives. She provides support, advocacy, resources, and guidance in situations where the stakes could not be higher. That work demands compassion, communication, organizational precision, and an unshakeable commitment to the people you serve. Marcia brings all of it — every single day — and then brings it to this community too.

As Region 2 Representative, Marcia's vision is straightforward and deeply felt — stronger communication between parents and the College, greater parent involvement at every level, and meaningful opportunities for connection, mentorship, and support that make every Morehouse family feel like they belong here.

She has been building toward this role one volunteer shift at a time. Region 2 is ready for what comes next.
