Virginia Tomlinson

Region 9

A Bit About Virginia

Virginia Tomlinson has spent more than two decades doing one thing exceptionally well — building environments where people feel supported, seen, and set up to succeed. For 22 years as a school administrator she worked at the intersection of students, families, educators, and community stakeholders, navigating the full complexity of what it means to hold a community together and move it forward. That experience does not just prepare someone for a role like this. It defines them for it.

Virginia understands something fundamental about the Morehouse parent experience — that families do not just want information. They want to feel genuinely connected to the institution their son has chosen and the community that surrounds him. Creating that connection — thoughtfully, consistently, and with care — is work Virginia has been doing her entire professional life.

Her commitment to community extends far beyond her career. As a proud member of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Incorporated for 31 years — with leadership and event planning service throughout — Virginia has demonstrated decade after decade that service is not something she does when it is convenient. It is simply who she is. Her current service as a Board Member for Lamad Charter School further reflects her unwavering dedication to educational growth and the communities that depend on it.

As Region 9 Representative, Virginia brings every dimension of that experience to bear — strong communication, meaningful family engagement, and a deeply personal commitment to creating mentorship and support opportunities that empower Morehouse families from orientation through commencement and beyond.

Region 9 families will not just have a representative in Virginia Tomlinson. They will have an advocate who has spent a lifetime learning exactly how to show up for the people she serves.
